America knows that Obamacare has failed. Quality of care has suffered; people have lost their coverage. The deceptions about keeping the plans and doctors patients preferred have been exposed by repeated failures.
Of course it has to be scrapped. Of course we need a new patient-centered and market-driven solution. But politicians seem to want the issue alive to run campaigns on more than they want to solve the problem. “Vote for me and we will repeal Obamacare” and “when Republicans control the Congress we will change things” are familiar election-year claims.
Well, we voted for them and nothing has changed. At some point these career politicians – on both sides of the aisle – must be held accountable for their rhetoric and the consequences of their failures.
